The Community Charter School of Paterson values your feedback about your experience with our school. As we approach the close of the 2011/2012 school year , we hope that our work has lived up to our mission to inspire and empower students, families, and staff with the opportunities to successfully shape and transform lives by becoming successful, lifelong learners. As we move forward with expanding the reach of our mission through adding 5th grade for the 2012/2013 school year and a grade each year thereafter until we reach 8th grade, your feedback is critical.

Families received the 2012/2013 STUDENT/PARENT RETURN SURVEY recently. We ask that the forms be completed & returned to Staci White by Friday, April 20, 2012. You must return this survey by the deadline to reserve your child’s placement for the 2012/2013 school year. Please complete the survey below to let us know if you plan to continue your child’s educational journey with our school. We encourage you to answer the questions candidly. The information will be used to improve the quality of our educational and support services.

CCSP Open Budget Forum

Open Budget Forum.. Do YOU have ideas you want to share about CCSP’s budget?… NOW IS THE TIME!!!!!

The CCSP Board of Trustees must submit the school’s budget for the 2012 – 2013 school year to the state by March 31, 2012.Come to the budget forum and share with us what you feel our budget priorities should be. Please join us Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 6 p.m. at 75 Spruce Street in the CCSP Cafe’.

We need and want your ongoing input! Please come out and help shape the school’s future!

IT’S OFFICIAL!!! CCSP Charter RENEWED!!!

The Community Charter School of Paterson is proud to annouce the NJ Department of Education’s decision to renew our charter for an additional five years. Also included in the state’s decision is the news that CCSP will be allowed to expand its current K-4 grade level. In the 2011 – 2012 school year CCSP will be adding grade 5 with an additional grade to follow each year thereafter until grade 8! Charter schools recieve annual reviews by the state and at the end of a chater school’s term, an in depth review is given in order to determine if the school will recieve an additional 5 year grant. The factors that determine the renewal are numerous and include but are not limited to student achievement, administration, fiscal viability, and school organisation.

The Community Charter School of Paterson would like to take this moment to say a special thank you to all who contributed, big or small, in the state’s decision and this important milestone. We thank administration, staff, parents, students and the community at large for their hard work and support. The hard work of all has and does not go unnoticed, not is it unappreciated. This is an accomplishment for all of us and we are grateful to your continued efforts to ensure CCSP and its students realize their full potential.

Free Computer Classes Offered

Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 6 p.m. CCSP will be holding the final computer class for parents and guardians. This final class will cover Microsoft Excel.

Celebrate Read Across America Week!

Read Across America is now in its 15th year, this year-round program focuses on motivating children and teens to read through events, partnerships, and reading resources. CCSP celebrates Read Across America with a variety of activities throughout the week. Read Across America Day is a national reading celebration takes place each year on or near March 2, the birthday of Dr. Seuss. Across the country, thousands of schools, libraries, and community centers participate by bringing together kids, teens, and books, and you can too!

Scholastic Book Fair!!!

The Scholastic Book fair will be held March 5 – March 9.

Hosting a Fair is a great way to support our school’s reading efforts. Students, parents, and teachers love Book Fairs for a number of reasons, including:

They provide easy access to a wide assortment of books.
They give kids a choice in what inspires them to read more.
Book Fairs involve family, which demonstrates to kids that reading is important.

Please support your childrens reading efforts!
